Day 4

If you're traveling through random parts of the country, Holiday Inn Express is where it's at. Free wifi, free breakfast and coffee in to go cups....also free? Sign me up! Because hello, I love Sonic breakfast as much as the next person but $10 is $10! Oh the restraint it took not to go to Sonic today.....wait, where was I? Oh yeah, love me some Holiday Inn Express. Too bad we only got in 1 round of free food, but it's an 8 hour driving day so we needed to be in the car by 9am. NBD, we were ready with 11 minutes to spare! 

Today's drive took us from Albuquerque, through the tophat/panhandle of Texas including Amarillo, and halfway through Oklahoma to Yukon (OKC suburb).

Side note: they really love fireworks in NM!

Don't mess with Texas. Obviously! Sadly DWI signs have replaced the "Don't mess with Texas" campaign. Didn't even see one of those iconic signs! 

Lunch montage...diet cherry limeade and tots are a must. I was not able to exercise restraint against Sonic twice in one day! 

Texas is just flat. But hey, cows! 

Oklahoma had the smallest state line welcome signage so far. You can do better!

It's not as flat as Texas though. Saw some more cows and big windmills like they have in California. Oh and it apparently snowed here yesterday. Not sad we missed that. Here's the pretty sunset:

And dinner from Interurban, a welcome change from all the fast food on the highway! 

Tomorrow we're on our way to Memphis!
